Dear Friends,

I thought you may find this interesting its on the impact of the
second intafida on Israeli and Palestinian writers. The first
article is by Linda Grant, and the second by Ahdaf Souief, who
assess the situation in the Occupied Territories, the role of
emerging Paelstinian writers and their coping mechanism.
The articles have all the ingredients of a brilliant novel, if only
it were fiction. Disorted dreams, corruption, fundementalism, Right
wing government, militarilism and Israels fragile
identity. However, wrongly Linda Grant seems to equate the nakba -
catastrophe with the Holocaust, rather then locate these traunmatic
histories within their own specifities, in which the fromer became a
consequence of the latter.

Anyway hope you enjoyed as much as I did.
