hi sherif,

i have to say a couple of things too:

1. if your negative looks too dense (compare with previous negs) then thats
the obvious cause of the grain. you either over-exposed or over-developed.
check the edge of the negative (where you have the frame numbers writtten).
this part is not exposed during photographing and so is usually
clear/transparent, and the frame numbers are dark and stand out (even if
film is overexposed). if the film was exposed to light during developing or
was over-developed, this bit would get darker and would be closer in tone
the image frames themselves.

2. the thing with C-41 negs is that if you're printing yourself they take so
much longer exposure times - minutes. and so imagine if you're burning in
some areas. also i suspect they might be grainier, though not sure.

i think meeting that developing/printing expert rana mentioned would be very
informative.
