hello all,

i have a Nikon FM2 with 3 lenses: NIKKOR 50mm(f/1.2) MF
NIKKOR-N 24mm(f/2.8) AF
NIKKOR 35-70mm(f/3.5) MF

they are all in excellent condition. now i want to buy a new Nikon body that
has more options: has several exposure modes, takes TTL flash, ...etc.
something along the lines of N90. the question is about lens compatibility.
of course the 2 MF lenses will not make use of the new camera's AF function.
and i'm not sure about exposure metering for all 3 lenses. so what do i do:
sell the MF lenses and buy AF ones that would be compatible on both bodies.
i don't want to lose too much in this transformation. and what is the
recommended nikon flash for the new body.

thanx,

maha

Maha,

The N90 can work with both of your lenses and the meter will be working.

If you want to change to AF Nikkors. well you have to keep in mind that you
won't be able to focus manually like you do on those lenses. ya3ny if you
put the AF on your manual body the whole movement will be very small that
you can't fine tune like you do in ur manual lenses now.

Prices are AROUND
Nikkor 1.8 50 is 100 $
Nikkor 1.4 D 50 is 350 $
Nikkor 28-80 3.5-5.6 120 $

Those are range of prices. So see which do you want to buy and if you sell
yours will you get enough ?

Ahmad.
