Dear All Friends,

I'm sorry for the long disappearance but I've been occupied by the return to universities and schools, as well as a dozen of other things including spending few days at hospital.

I'm fine now, should avoid stress and anything to do with municipal elections :). As you remeber it was on my agenda for the last three months. This week we had a small confernece on the issue that was very successful. We managed as well to have three women candidates announce for their candidacy for the the upcoming municipal elections.

three women candidates for elections-arab news

This has been a great achievement. Especially since we haven't heard any condemnation or official regection for their appearances. The news is now on all wires, it is hard to keep up with it. On the one hand we want to publicise the fact of women's participation, and on the other we are obliged to respond to every journalist who wrote or will write about it.

These are some links of what was happeninng lately in here with some help of your friend.

I hope I haven't overwhelmed you, but it explains my disappearance. We are, as saudi women, very enthusiastic about what is going on.. it is a rare moment in our modern history where we feel that we can make a difference.

I expect your understanding and support.

Salam,

Hatoon
