Dina,

Now that's interesting. It seems that cultural Geodata for Alex is more than what I guessed. I have heard before about the cisterns database but didn't know that it has been entered to a geodatabase. I am always willing to learn about new geodatabases in my areas of interest (generally Egypt now) because it's always (and will keep being) THE bottle-neck of any GIS project. Right?

so what kind of basemap do you use? Is it the old cadastral 1:500? And are you
using it only as a backdrop or have digitized it fully as a layer. I know that Jean-Yve has got a uperb vector cadastral layer now, but was wondering if there could have been better sources for basemaps.

So who's "Alex Preservation Trust"? An NGO or some foreign mission? I guess I seem to be a bit nosy now. But really I was in the middle of writing this survey report and my brain was full of those questions in the last week or so.

Well, I have some conservations on the enjoyment in eastern. You must have heard that it's where sewage pours in the sea!!! So sometimes you cannot even see your own hand underwater. I guess I am doing it just for the sake of telling my other diving buddies that I have been to Cleopatra's Palace and that I have seen 'everything' ;) Anyway, I like always to get my information first hand and not through somebody, so maybe I 'll get you some inetersting news after I do the dive. :)

I agree to that. So who's in charge (Hmmmmm... should it be me? :)

Salaam,
Mohamed
