Dear Friends,
I'm going with some friends for couple of cultural trips, and you are welcomed to join if interrested:

1- Fri/Sat 20-21 April, 2days/1night, some Upper Egypt Monstaries and Holy Family tracking [Gabal Dronkah, El-Ganadlah, El-Dier El-Abiad (an old Roman temple in Souhag, where we spend the night in a hostel next to it), El-Mu7arrak, Sawada, and Gabal El-Tier].
The expenses are not yet finalized, but it looks like around LE 170 for touristic bus, spending the night in doubles or triples, and dinner and breakfast.
I need your feedback about your preferance to leave Cairo early morning (5:30-6:00)and the above tour, OR leaving after midnight (1:00 AM), and have the opprtunity to visit more monuments.

2- Sat 05 May, Ras El-Barr full day. Details later.

Please keep all mails OFF-LIST.
Have a nice day,
mounir

Dear Sunny,
It will be my pleasure that you complete the training and join the trip.
Safari boats usually have limitations in accepting novice divers, as some dives need experience, unless the diver agrees from the beginnig to quit the dives beyond his limitatins.
If you agree on that principle, let me know to reserve you a place.
Best regards,
mounir

Dear Dr Mounir

Sure I do understand and fully agree with this principal - I am aware that I may not be able to or qualified to do all dives - thats ok with me.

Kindly reserve a place for me - my wife might also be in Egypt at that time - so please reserve for 2 places (she is not a diver). I will reconfirm of her plans by the end of this month.

Sunny

Dear Dr Mounir

Sure I do understand and fully agree with this principal - I am aware that I may not be able to or qualified to do all dives - thats ok with me.

Kindly reserve a place for me - my wife might also be in Egypt at that time - so please reserve for 2 places (she is not a diver). I will reconfirm of her plans by the end of this month.

Dear Sunny,
It will be my pleasure that you complete the training and join the trip.
Safari boats usually have limitations in accepting novice divers, as some dives need experience, unless the diver agrees from the beginnig to quit the dives beyond his limitatins.
If you agree on that principle, let me know to reserve you a place.

Dear Mabrouk,
It is a real pleasure that you are joining, especially that?we did'nt share in an?event, and particularly diving, for long time now.
?
* Half the share is needed as a downpayement for registration, to be completed a week before the trip. Boat cost is the same for divers & non-divers. (That was?different few years ago)
* Divers who did'nt dive for a year,?SHOULD pass the "Scuba Tune-up" written?exam, and review the skills and have a review dive with an Instructor prior to boarding.
This is logged, and can replace missing dives in the log-book.
Apart from equipment rental from a dive center, this service of offered from my behalf totally for free for SSC members.
* Riding a common bus will leave us with a lot of?time loss, while we are in need?of making use of every moment. We also need cab transportations inside sharm (to Shark's bay, back to jetty, and back to bus). From our previous experience, renting a?private minibus is the practical solution for more comfort and time saving, and the cost difference is not that much.
If some SSC?members want to share us the ride, and spend couple of days in a resort at Sharm then join us back to Cairo on Sunday, let me know soon to start arragemets.( They can stay at Shark's bay or?wherever they want, and the bus can stay with them)
* The trip destinations and reefs visited depends mainly on weather conditions and divers experience, but the primary plan is to go south (Ras Moh., Mahoudat, Shaab Ali,....).
We have also to plan for good time for the non-divers to swim & snorkle.
* You were on board before, and you know that the food on board is of an excellent quality , with Salads and fruits in reasonable amounts enough for everybody. Some people prefer to bring their specials,?... fridge, freezer & microwave oven are available.
* I can bring you a light U/W camera that uses standard 35 mm films and may be used till the depth of 40f/13m?, with reasonable photos results. I can't promise bringing my professional "Nikonos 5" and the strobe this time (lot of carrying & mentainance, and need full self-control to get good results).
I'm not sure, but you may find a camera (or a housing for your digital camera), for rental in some dive centers at Sharm (I used to rent U/W video cameras, but that was 15 years ago)
?
Any more enquieries from any member is welcomed.
Have a nice day,
mounir

Dear Safarists,
We are planning to have fun on board of the luxury boat "King Snefro 6", during the weekend 02-04 July ISA.
The plan is to leave Cairo early morning Fri 02 (shortly after mid-night Thur/Fri), to sharm, spending the day till 1:30 PM at the Shark's bay beach, for leasure and review dives for divers, till the boat permits are established. Boarding at 2:00 PM, and leaving shortly after, spending 2 nights under the stars and moonlight, cruising, diving, snorkling, swimming,... .. to be back to the jetty same time Sun 04, and then back to Cairo, expected to be there around 10:00 PM
On board full accommodation in 6 AC double cabins (2 of them are with ensuite shower/bath, and the other 4 share another 2 showers/bath) , with 3 hot delicious meals daily (ask those who tried before), water, snacks, &hot & soft drinks. Also, tanks & weights for certified divers, but equipment NOT included (No OW classes, but introductory/ advanced are accepted on previous notice). I'll do the guiding for free (Emad may also join as a guide if his schedule allows).
The cost for the boat is U$ 220 or equivelent in LE, with no hidden expenses, unless you want to share in the crew tips if you enjoy the service. Transportation can by arranged by private cars or renting a private minibus. Transportation and beach expenses are shared according to the usual SSC guidlines.
Mail/calls for enquieries are welcomed. Reservations by mail priorities only.
Have a nice weekend,
mounir

Dear Mabrouk,
It is a real pleasure that you are joining, especially that we did'nt share in an event, and particularly diving, for long time now.

* Half the share is needed as a downpayement for registration, to be completed a week before the trip. Boat cost is the same for divers & non-divers. (That was different few years ago)
* Divers who did'nt dive for a year, SHOULD pass the "Scuba Tune-up" written exam, and review the skills and have a review dive with an Instructor prior to boarding.
This is logged, and can replace missing dives in the log-book.
Apart from equipment rental from a dive center, this service of offered from my behalf totally for free for SSC members.
* Riding a common bus will leave us with a lot of time loss, while we are in need of making use of every moment. We also need cab transportations inside sharm (to Shark's bay, back to jetty, and back to bus). From our previous experience, renting a private minibus is the practical solution for more comfort and time saving, and the cost difference is not that much.
If some SSC members want to share us the ride, and spend couple of days in a resort at Sharm then join us back to Cairo on Sunday, let me know soon to start arragemets.( They can stay at Shark's bay or wherever they want, and the bus can stay with them)
* The trip destinations and reefs visited depends mainly on weather conditions and divers experience, but the primary plan is to go south (Ras Moh., Mahoudat, Shaab Ali,....).
We have also to plan for good time for the non-divers to swim & snorkle.
* You were on board before, and you know that the food on board is of an excellent quality , with Salads and fruits in reasonable amounts enough for everybody. Some people prefer to bring their specials, ... fridge, freezer & microwave oven are available.
* I can bring you a light U/W camera that uses standard 35 mm films and may be used till the depth of 40f/13m , with reasonable photos results.

Any more enquieries from any member is welcomed.
Have a nice day,
mounir

Dear Dr Monir,

I'm in. Any need for downpayments?
I haven't dived for a while so I am not sure about how much weight do I need so I hope they can have something to help with that including a good belt for the lead i need. I suggest we go with a bus since we're moving to boat directly. What do you think?

Few more questions:
-What corals are we visiting?

-How's the food like? Can I suggest my own (fruits detoxing!)

-My log hasn't been filled for a few years now. Is that a problem?? :)

-Finally how about photography? Are there anybody to help me do my frist steps? don't have a marine camera/strobes so can I rent them somewhere in Cairo?

Salaam
Mohamed Mabrouk

We are planning to go camping at Ras Mohammed National Park during 3eed El-Ad7a, 03-06 Oct 2014 isA.
As the final cost will depend on the total number of participants, I need the feed-back of those who are interested to join, putting in mind:
* The camp will include full accommodation in double tents, starting the breakfast of arrival, till the lunch of departure.
* If some of you want to drive down, please let this be clear from the beginning, before contracting with the private bus (to chose the proper bus size).
* If you are driving down, let me know early enough what is your expected arrival/departure time.
* The full details will follow later after I have this primary feedback. The cost of the camping, Park fees, Transportation, and diving will be announced in separate inteties.
